I’m Pierre Zoller, a Berlin-based artist working primarily with acrylic on canvas. My work is influenced by the raw visual language of street art, the energy of the city, skateboarding culture and, perhaps most importantly, music.

I’ve been playing guitar for many years and am part of a band. Music has always been a constant presence in my life, not just something I listen to, but something I feel. Rhythm, distortion, repetition, noise and energy all find their way into my visual work.

My professional background is in graphic design. I trained as a book printer, graduated from the Berlin School of Graphic Design in 2001 and have worked for more than 20 years as a graphic and brand designer. In 2019, I founded my own design studio.

But painting gives me something design cannot; There is no client, no briefing and no predefined solution. Just the material, the idea, the music in my ears and the process of finding out what happens when they come together.
